We must clearly understand that the Resurrection takes place in the tomb, in the recesses of the earth, where Christ’s wounded heart and His divine corpse lie. This heart, which has stopped beating since His death on the Cross, starts beating again by the Father’s almighty power. It certainly remains the mortally wounded heart, the heart pierced by the lance; but this mortal wound is transformed into a wound of glory which, far from preventing life, gives it more radiance. God uses this wound so that all the love of Jesus’ soul may shine forth in unique splendor in His heart of flesh and, through it, in His entire human body. (…)
This first beat of Jesus’ glorious heart is first and foremost for the Father, for His glory. But it is also for Mary. If the first beat of the heart of the Child Jesus coming from Mary, His Mother, was for the Father and for Mary (no one else shared in it, it was reserved for them), it is normal for the first beat of the glorified Jesus’ heart, coming from the Father’s omnipotence, also to be reserved for them. Jesus was returning a hundredfold to Mary what He had received from her.
It is in her faith that Mary lives by this mystery, that she lives on this first beat of Jesus’ glorified heart. This act of faith is made in darkness in Mary’s soul, yet it is based on the glory and brilliant light of Christ’s risen heart and body. (…) This divine act of faith has no need of any outward sign. Mary does not need any visible and sensible apparition to believe in the mystery of the Resurrection. Inspired by the Holy Spirit, she spontaneously adheres to this mystery of glory. She follows the Lamb in His new state, as she had followed Him on the holy mountain of Calvary.
